Modular impact curtain systems · Patent pending

Throw real implements indoors.

Engineered to stop the implement — not the thrower. EvelTarp is a modular impact curtain built from heavy-duty industrial fabric — tough enough to absorb a full-velocity hammer or weight throw, yet light enough to travel with the lightest implements (such as a 1.0kg discus) so nothing bounces back at your athlete. Conceived and designed by a career throws coach. Patent pending.

Our models

An EvelTarp for any space

All of our models use the same patent-pending panel system. The 900N comes in two fixed lengths and is in stock online; the 1200 Series is custom-built to your facility's height in three fabric builds and ordered direct.

900N Series

Why I invented EvelTarp

Built by a coach out of the need to throw all year round

EvelTarp inventor
The inventor

I have coached around the world in various extreme climates — rain, winter and punishing heat. Keeping practice consistent meant finding a way to throw real implements indoors. Nets were dangerous: implements got stuck and came back at the athlete. PVC or rubber belting is too stiff: implements deflect and bounce back. Other solutions I tried simply didn't last.

Then I found the material we use today. It solved two problems that pull in opposite directions: it has the mass and durability to repeatedly absorb a steel hammer at full velocity, yet it also has the flexibility to absorb the lightest implements so they don't bounce back or deflect away.

Then we had a third problem. This material is heavy and dense relative to other fabrics. Fabricating and transporting large broad sheets of it isn't feasible, and hanging a complete tarp requires expensive, specialized equipment. The answer: modular panels. Flexible in length, set in width: simply choose the panel length that suits your vertical needs and the correct number of them to cover your width requirements. Expand, or relocate a tarp at will... all with relative ease.

“Having a tarp to throw into is not only about creating efficiencies in training. Of course, in order to develop as a competitive thrower, one needs to throw outdoors as often as possible. But this is not feasible for everyone — and in fact, over the years I have found that having both options accessible is ideal for both technical development and performance growth.”

Expandable panels, not one giant sheet

Our tarps are heavy, this is why they work. However, one massive tarp is too heavy to hang, move, or relocate without specialized equipment. Changing a tarp configuration is much easier when the tarp can come apart. Plus, you can replace individual panels within a tarp — for instance, if your program grows and you feel you need upgraded panels say, in the hot zone, you don’t have to replace the entire tarp.

Height

Pick your panel length

900N panels hang in 4.50m (15') or 6.00m (20') drops. 1200 Series panels are built to any height your facility needs. Cable drops and D-ring attachments are included with every tarp.

Width

Add panels across

Each 900N panel covers 2.5 ft of width (30"); 1200 panels cover 40". A 20-ft-wide space needs eight 900N panels. Every panel is a manageable weight for self-installation. No special tools needed to put the tarp together — simply align and close the flap.

Flexibility

Expand or relocate anytime

Add or remove panels at will. Widen your curtain for a bigger space, or take it down and move it to a new facility with relative ease.

Ownership

Installation, maintenance & care

A few habits keep your tarp performing for years. Full details are in the brochures.

Cable drops & hanging

  • Cable drops and D-ring attachments are included: 0.60m (24") with the 900N, 1.00m (40") with the 1200 Series. Longer drops can accommodate taller ceilings.
  • Ensure your ceiling/roof structure can withstand the static weight of the tarp and the dynamic loads of impacts.
  • Hang with the bottom of the tarp ≤3' from the floor, keep the tarp ≥6' from walls or obstructions, and respect the buffer distances in the sizing guides.
  • Inspect drops, D-rings, and anchors regularly for wear or loosening.

Tape your hammer wires

  • Tape hammer wires before throwing into the tarp to reduce abrasion on the fabric at impact.
  • Check tape condition frequently during sessions and re-tape as needed.

Panels & longevity

  • Inspect panels and panel connections routinely; address wear points early.
  • Individual panels can be replaced without replacing the whole curtain — and after your warranty expires, replacement panels are available at a discount.
  • Support on design, setup, and installation is included with every order.
